We (the readers) have a pretty clear view on their relationship, in all previous chapters we can see she truly cares about him, but from his point of view she really keeps him guessing for the most part, so for him this is a real concern and for her it was really amusing

I felt that way too, was pretty upset, not cus I hate that stuff in general but because one of the biggest things about watching these two is the fact you could feel how much they legit care for each other.
