Many people weren't happy with the coupling at the end. They had to tack on that movie to show development for Naruto and Hinata (which is funny because in the movie it shows that Naruto still has feelings for Sakura) because in the manga, he had more development with Sakura than Hinata. As far as the story goes, it should have ended with Naruto and Sakura together. And this isn't me just being a "shipper". There's too many hints of it, the biggest being Sakura being compared to Naruto's mother which in the end was made completely pointlessly. Sakura's crush on Sasuke was shallow. Hinata's crush on Naruto was shallow. The 2 who had the best chemistry of the main people in that story was Sakura and Naruto.
