The entirety of the last page, from the panel placement to the shading just screams 'death flag' to me. Plus, him saying "I don't want to let her go,' before that ominous last page, makes me more certain. And that last panel with the sun going down, could symbolize 'the end'. I'm probably just overthinking it though.

So I think I know why is has a bad feeling at the end (came back here while doing a random favorites run) and that sign at the end says "If you see a strange person or vehicle..."
