The only problem with it being a remake is that it feels more like the cliff notes version of it with random scenes and art sprinkled in. Personally, I also find the art style of the original more appealing. When I first saw it untranslated, I was hoping it was a continuation. This is a full step back, and that's disappointing.

It's not a knockoff, it's a remake from the original artist. I'm actually stunned you didn't notice that since you went out of your way to find the original and somehow didn't see the identical group and artist names in the titles themselves. Also, this is far better than the old version. Much better artwork and pacing all around.

These characters are a little too skinny, but then again they are faithful to the original digimon artstyle I suppose...
