I actually like that its very open ended to the idea that this Ogre overthrows the rest and saves the kingdom. The original got WAY to cocky into thinking that simply knowledge would win when he didn't even keep the abilities to use her magic.

btw, i kind of remember a story which had pretty much similar setup to this. but, instead of an orge, it features an orc iirc. and the girls didnt die, but they switched bodies instead. i guess to some people, this one i mentioned perhaps might be harsher.

i think her elder sister did died taken by that orge. when consuming her, the orge itself perhaps consumed the girls will, thus making him thinking that he is still the female knight. i think most orges dont have things like thoughts here, they seems to be only following orders from that least intelligent one.

looking back this sounds and seems like it could be an easy Isekai in recent times

Redbrownalgae is right. It's like NTR where the people in the wrong get what's coming to them at the end. There was undeniably an awful feeling and experience, but at least you can get a good justice boner out of it at the end.

Well I wouldn't say it was sweet so much as it was cathartic, knowing that they managed to overtake the ogre's personalities with their own before opening a can of whoopass on the other ogre's. Could have ended much worse.

Hm so she ended up consuming her sister, but they still managed to suppress the ogre's control and go on to defeat other ogres. Definitely could've ended worse. Though I did want to see another chapter where they kill the mage ogre.

I dont think it's sweet at all. in the end, all the girls in the story are dead. It's just their personality and memories that live on. They all got eaten alive.
