And if you think China isn't a major market for manga then you're ignorant. And besides even in Japan sasusaku is still #1, both in the most viewed category and consisting of the most works. This is a fact. My friend personally has 548 doujinshi of these two collected in a span of just a few months. Even in Fanfiction sasusaku has the most works, and Sasuke is the most popular character
