It's a messed up tale of a broken duo finally communicating.

Pretty sad. Even when the son is raping the mother I can only pity him. His level of self-loathing was off the charts, and ultimately what he actually wanted wasn't sex but rather motherly affection and validation. The mother did the best she could with a horrible situation since his birth but damn did she directly feed this problem over time with her cold behavior. At least it ends on a slightly happy note
