The series may have gotten a bit “old” (although we certainly have different reasons for thinking that), but saying the art has gotten worse is objectively false. Artists don’t get worse as time goes on, regardless of what *you* think of the path the artist has taken with his style, his quality has objectively improved.

This guy's maki series just kept getting worse. As he kept jacking it to his own degradation storyline the art kept warping into shit. The best one was probably that stuck-in-wall one.
