Wow people saying that the reboot doesn't compare to the original, it really is Evangelion.

As far as I'm concerned, RE-TAKE ended with After back in 2008, and it ended perfectly, a masterpiece among doujinshi. This rehash is just Kimigabuchi's attempt to catch lightning in a bottle twice, although they've apparently lost all their skill for storytelling in the meantime. I'd give this a solid 1.5/5 for what we've seen so far.

I was initially really excited for another Re-Take series (even though I thought the original was almost perfect and had a perfect ending), but after reading these first two entries, the plot is all over the place, the writing is confusing (NOT in the good way), and Kimimaru seems to be trying too hard to craft something as remarkable as the first Re-Take while seemingly forgetting that Re-Take worked because it was based on a solid plot and continuity, while we're on the second installment and I still can't tell where this story is trying to go. Maybe it'll get better in later issues, but so far, I'm extremely disappointed with the poor quality of this Kai series.

Generally continuity in hentai doesn't matter much, and figuring out what's happened is usually pretty easy (X has fucked Y, but hasn't fucked Z, and is getting laid with the power of Q), but this time I am completely lost. Both Asuka and Shinji got stuck in Leliel, and this time instead of talking to Leliel as represented by his younger self, Shinji talked to Leliel as represented by PUNISHED SHINJI (a man betrayed by his Father), and both him and Asuka had their minds wiped?

I need more plot. This is getting interesting. Remove the random rape.
