To anyone who doesn't understand this is the story: The girl born from a curse of an ancient SNAKE god bound to one place and time eternally living in that moment. The story starts with her being born, created by the snake god(?) to become a liaison between the people and use her to demand lives as sacrifices hence her beautiful appearance. The guy from prequel comes in and becomes infatuated with her and they fell in love, however deep inside they BOTH knew they were fated to be apart. The guy wanted to wait for her to finish her duties as a miko no matter how long it takes. So I'm guessing he prayed to a God to be reincarnated again and again until the days comes when she is freed from the binding of the shrine. The snake god demands sacrifices however they both settled with giving this God their child (in the belly) My headcanon is the Girl is binded to eternal life by the power of the Snake God and the guy is being endlessly reincarnated by the power of GOD -- DEUS VULT!!!
