whatcha talking about the rape scene was the best part

Rape scene was a definite anticlimax, but that's how it was meant. Seeing those two talk and recover was a delightful relief I've not seen anywhere else. Since rape is oft portrayed as "the end of one's life of innocence", putting time to show that there's still connection and love after that trauma just reaffirms their strength as characters. It sucks to read, like any tense scene where the protagonist is being outplayed by an opponent, but getting through and discovering there is an aftermath is rewarding in itself.
