As a computer science student I find this comic funny on so many levels...lol

There's a thought experiment (I can't remember the name of it) that poses the question what if there were an entity that looked exactly like a human, talked exactly like a human, reacted exactly like a human, but was the living embodiment of "no thoughts, head empty"? We could greet them and they'd respond in kind; we'd punch them and they'd punch back; it could be going about a daily routine in a absolutely realistic and human way. All these things but there'd be no way to confirm that it had any thoughts at all. Basically sentience would be impossible to recognise outside of ourselves. We can only recognise our internal consciousness—even if we can see subtle changes in another being's expressions, we can't actually confirm if they're thinking anything or not. The day we can't physically or emotionally tell the difference between a human and an android is the day we leave the uncanny valley and enter Terminator 2 territory.

I love how when reading the first two pages I went "this is already unrealistic; if this was real there would be a huge scene for modded behaviors", then a couple of pages later that's exactly what the protag decides to help with.
