@mailforporn Seven Seas has been very tight-lipped about why they initially didn't release volume 6 as scheduled. While the pandemic probably had a large impact on the output of printing houses and paper mills, I don't think that's the main reason that SS put a hold on the series. The more that I read thru the translated volumes, the more that it seemed like the author was trying to shift focus away from the excited scientist character in favor of the the incel survivalist character. Also, there was a lengthy anti-feminism screed from the author at the end of vol. 5 which seemed to be in response to fan criticism of a scene in the previous volume. I'm sure it also didn't help the release schedule when SS was accused of misediting/censoring some of their other series around the same time.
