In panel 3 there are 9 pieces on the board, and in panel 4 there are 13 pieces on the board. This means that exactly four moves have been played between the two panels, because exactly one new piece gets played per turn. We also know that black made the last move, because there are no white pieces on the board at the end of the last move. This means that the turn order must have gone white>black>white>black. Technically it's also possible that white was left with no legal moves, allowing black to move multiple times ie: w>b>b>b, but if you analyze further you will see that this is impossible. We also know that black's two moves must have been on the far top and far left (d7 and b5 from our point of view, to use chess notation) because there's no way for black to have captured these pieces, they were directly played.
