A specific region of the brain is responsible for a person's gender identity, and while it may sound odd, the 'color' (or darkness/lightness) of this region is the only known way of empirically identifying a person's gender. Unfortunately this region is on the interior of the brain, so only corpses can be identified this way. That's why it's so 'wishy washy' as there's no clear indicator we can see. Just believe the patient. Growing up with GID hurts, a lot.

Nothing gay about this, trans women are women, and as for the age thing on deciding if people are trans, human gender is typically understood and decided on at a young age anyway. No one tells a kid who is assigned female that they need to wait till they're an adult to be sure, so why wait for a trans kid? Irl there is no surgeon or doctor who would prescribe hormones or perform a surgery without serious psych evals and extensive discussions with the child in question to determine if they are seriously trans and healthy and sane enough to undergo treatment, so there is nothing to debate. Let trans people affirm who they are. Most people can't undergo surgery until they're legal adults anyway.
