I kinda like the ending. My headcanon is that it works as a side story to the main character’s journey. He’s the type who goes around looking for interesting people, fucking around with them without any real commitment, just killing time until he eventually finds the right person. In that sense, this bottom guy is simply one of his past flings, just another step along the way.
