While not as induced by misery as in Part 1, the ending makes up for everything. Her shift in personality was an obvious trauma response, but I blame the bit of confusion on the fact that the author never showed how she "recovered" from the emotional damage she experienced after her perpetrator forced her to detach herself from her own mother in the first epilogue to transform her character.

I thought there was something weird when he went for the groceries instead of her and he told her to hide while he opens the door, but that ending made me put my dick back in my pants just to comment how good that twist was.
