So the reason why anime characters getting "blacked" aint so bad compared to doing the reverse of that is because POC anime fans really dont have much representation in anime and, iirc, change the skin tone of characters who they like or can relate to. Changing the skin color of an originally black character (especially if their color/ethnicity is important to their story) is bad is because it taking away the only representation POCs have in anime.
