This is what I kinda hoped Jaku Chara Tomozaki kun (minus the seggs) was going to be initially since I thoroughly enjoyed High Score Girl though I really want the FMC to be more talkative but they can't deviate too much from the source material I guess. Tomozaki kun just kinda went normie shit and while there's nothing wrong with that, I started watching right after finishing High Score Girl so the whiplash from the sudden genre shift threw me in a loop so I dropped it. I should probably go watch it again since it really isn't that bad. My preferences and expectations were just not met by the show. That aside, this Doujin is goated and the chock-full of references and impressive attention to detail is immaculate. Girl fg gamers have better reads but guys have better execution and faster reflexes. Anything in between like knowledge can close the gap enough to compensate. That is my ideal hardcore fighting game couple.
