also it may take some practice if you don't have a feel for it

i think these colors look wack and they can be improved but might take more time (and also people might not even notice). instead of coloring the black and wight images with premade shading, remove the shading and use more sophisticated shading techniques like shifting color hues and saturation. this can make the coloring less ugly but it can take a lot of time in removing pre-existing shading. if you care about quality rather than quantity, then i would really recommend doing this.
