Weirdly enough I don't feel his revenge is justified. For one, he's already successful, that in itself is revenge enough. Second, the girl is already down in the dumps by the time he's trying to get even with her. There's nothing more satisfying than tearing your mighty bully down to earth, but kicking someone already facefirst down the mud, someone who's already been brought down by bad karma due to past actions, just rubs me the wrong way. Instead of long-awaited, satisfying revenge against a bully, what we instead see is a damsel in distress finding love in a guy who is just taking advantage of her. I can see why the title is called Melancholy Reunion, there is nothing happy about this doujin, just some guy stuck in the past and a girl shoved into the mud after tasting hope and love for the first time in a long while.
