@Shimakaze010 I'm reading the Japanese version to compare and it seems like this translation is messed up. There is nothing about a daytime patrolman. That page is supposed to be "Irie is Suzu's mom, she's a coworker at my other job. Actually, she has a different last name now, but I still call her Irie-san like I always used to."

As for Risa, she knew Wataru's mom from work so she must babysit Suzu as a favor to a friend. But the part on page 46 where Risa says "I'm with a daytime patrolman who's working a shift. They have different last names now. That's what I used to call her at work, even though that's what I still call him" has to be a bad translation. The pronouns have to be fucked up in some way. "Irie" is obviously Wataru/Suzu's mom's name, but if it was her last name then it would technically be the same as Wataru's last name, so how could Risa not stop to think that's strange they have the same last name? And why would Risa stop calling the mom "Irie" but still call the patrolman by that name when it was never his name in the first place? "Irie" clearly ISN'T the patrolman's name in any way, because Wataru wouldn't have recognized it then. And if "Irie" is the mom's first name, then why bring up the confusing shit about last names at all? That one part screws up the flow of the backstory.

I've been a bit confused on this one for over a year now in terms of the backstory relationships. Suzu is probably a "last minute" child between Wataru's mom and dad before they got divorced. His mom may not have even known she was pregnant at that time, and Wataru went to live with his dad hence he never found out about his mom being pregnant, plus it seems he has no relationship with her so that's why he doesn't know about his sister being born. The mom probably talked about Wataru to Suzu though since he's still her son, hence why she knew he was her brother from part 1.

Just so you all know, they are blood related siblings. The tag for Yukari 3 does include incest/sister, though in the end he told her to never come again unless necessary.
