@Mr. Ero-Jin: I like your theory. If this is in the same universe, then this could be a mutated version of the original Slime. If you have read that story, it was mentioned that once the original Slime created it's double, they have their own thoughts and is not controlled by the original Slime. So this could be a Slime which was split too far away from the original Slime and lost it's original thoughts. It only remembers to assimilate the girls and have sex, which was what the original intention was for it's love.

Either this is the same slime that are obsessed with that guy that it assimilated many girls just for it beloved. Or this are other slimes that also within the same city.
