As a Taiwanese man this is the weirdest doujin I've seen in a long long time They captured Taiwans reputation as "island of cults" pretty well For those who don't know, since the 90's where we finally got freedom of speech, the taiwanese law for religion is very soft so a lot of cults with charismatic leaders posing as saints or mages have been very popular among the working class, supported by Taiwan not having a state religion and people here being very superstitious If you want to see another work by taiwanese artists/developer dealing with this, the game "Devotion" is a great horror take on it (you might have heard of it since it got pulled from Steam for a very hidden winnie the pooh joke but is now selling on a couple of different pc stores)
