I don't think there will be "continuation" and this extra chapter makes it clear that each one has already taken a different way... Mariko became a prostitute...... Yui became addicted to having sex only with boys younger than her..... And Mitsuru is happy for having stolen the girlfriend of one of his sempais, and since Yui and Mariko do not have partners, it wouldn't make sense for him to seek revenge trying to get them back since what he became addicted to was stealing other's girlfriends like they did with him...... This chapter would give meaning to the title of the work, which is would translate as "The summer in which the cicadas burned until they were spoiled" implying that not only the girls were spoiled, but also Mitsuru, for which they will never be able to have the same relationship as before......
