@thebiggestdreamer hate to break this to you, but transsexual is one of the normalized terms (if not the main term) for transgender people in Japan. Over in the West it's still used by the older trans crowd as transgender is a newer term. Transsexual and transgender also can have different meanings, with transsexual meaning someone who has had gender-reassignment surgery versus transgender meaning someone who hasn't had surgery (or started hormones in some opinions). While transsexual has been used as a slur, anything can be used as a slur. Call someone a blonde in the same tone of voice and you can get similar results. But in this case it isn't in my opinion. It depends on the intent and context of any term, and for some they prefer using transsexual. TL;DR: context and intent is important.
