Hello, this is the translator. Something worth noting is that 3huro mentions that he didn't know how to end this story, and I could kinda tell by the shift in the writing of the original. The one plot hole that bothers me is that the 3-year gap made little sense. If protag knows and has visited the Moriya Shrine, there's a chance he would have gone there at least once in those three years. I find it hard to believe that he wouldn't have run into Suwako there or that Sanae and Kanako wouldn't be aware of how he's connected to her (it'd be hard to miss the pregnant belly Suwako would have when she returned to the shrine, much less the child she raised to adulthood in 3 years). But yeah, this is a monkey's paw story.
