This strikes me as a last-minute chapter that was released for legal or PR reasons or something. P4 was labeled the final chapter, and the blurb at the end said the same. At the end of P4, she had completely given in, and agreed to have multiple children with her son. But suddenly, she does "what's right," and becomes an upstanding, respected model citizen as a result. It reminds me of that meme where an anime ends with someone evil getting shot, but there's a blurb saying the shooter was brought to justice because vigilantism is immoral or whatever. It's pretty clear what the intention was with this series, this is just the thing tacked onto the end because Japan is uptight about some of the messages sent by media.

I can't believe what I just read... Except for the art which was barely decent all along, the story was absolutely great, the build up in their relationship really good and it was overrall for that a masterpiece. What the hell is this ending... I just don't understand, it's like the author completely changed his mind at the last minute to make a bad ending... I was a bit disappointed with part 4 because it felt like the mother wasn't really trying to resist her son anymore, and then she has a complete change of mind... I just can't take it, this is the kind of ending that ruins the entire story...
