Just read some of the novel. Whilst there is smut it feels less present than in this manhua due to the fact of there being more in-between scenes. If you enjoyed the story in this manhua definitely check out the light novel as it's quite good so far. It fills in the plot much more, gives more insight to the MC's thoughts and beliefs, and there is much more character interaction that helps flesh out the story.
