One last point, in a past interview the creator was asked about Bridget’s character and the intention behind the characters design. The creator said he wanted to create a cute character but didn’t want it to be generic. So he added a twist, which was to make the character male. So, changing Bridget’s sex would literally defeat the purposeful for why the character was made in the first place.

7. The more recent announcements made by the creator have never used the word trans or transgender to describe the character, only girl or she. The game itself, Guilty Gear Strive has multiple instances in English with Bridget’s character referring to himself as both a girl AND a boy. Since all endings are cannon, you can’t just cherry pick the one that says he’s a girl. The symbol on top of his forehead is also the androgynous symbol, which is meant to signify the ambiguity of Bridget’s identity,

5. There are two decades worth of established lore which contradicts with Guilty Gear Strive. Past comments made by the creator make it clear Bridgets character is male. So, if you’re claiming Bridget was a girl all along, you would be lying. It would be considered a retcon and it’s backed by poor writing as that. 6. A creators beliefs can change in two decades and this new push to reinterpret the character by these ultra progressive brainwashed Cultural Marxists, may have convinced the creator to change the character. Which Is a decision I personally disagree with.

4. A lot of English localisations purposefully alter the source material to promote a political agenda. Which anime fans hate with a fucking passion. This could be the case for Bridget’s character, either that or the translators have a poor understanding of Japanese/anime culture and they reinterpreted the character as trans because that was the closest approximation in their minds. Even so, the english dialogue does not explicitly say the character is trans. The character simply says their a girl which fits with the second point I made.

1. The Japanese dialogue says otokonoko which means “male daughter” or simply boy depending on the context. 2. Trap characters & otokonokos use girl and woman as epithets despite still identifying as male. Heck even real life drag queens call themselves woman despite not identifying as the opposite sex. They just like dressing up as woman. 3. A lot of Japanese works have alternative canons depending on what language it’s being translated in. So you could say Bridget is trans in the English version but is still a trap in the Japanese version.
