Gotta be honest, I was surprised by the second Misty/Kasumi story. And considering that the Alola's Companions also appear on that last panel, this most be either from 2017 or so, pretty recent at the very least

We could say the same thing about Pokemons. Ash doesn't seem them as wild beasts that kills each order like in real life, my he seem to see them as docile animals at all. In the first page we see Pikachu eating a Pokemon, and we got surprised, but we shouldn't. They're animals after all, and it is normal in the nature. Ash tries to ignore it, and we see in his perspective.

The person in the mirror is Ash. In the first part of the second part, he started challenging Anya to a battle and she, however, started to run. Ash looked at the news and it says "an old man challenging for a battle". That old man is Ash, but he seems to see himself as a young man. When he saw himself in the mirror, he thought it was another person, but Misty recognized him. The author confirm that recording us of the "criminal" in Ash's line in the end.

@quintpolaris best guess, it's talking about how for years now, Ash and the others weren't allowed to grow up in the show. Which is absolutely unrealistic after all those travels. Adult, present-day Ash might have been mentally stuck as younger Ash for a long time, always seeing himself as the first season age, or even sometimes regressing back then.
