@Zeeth actually they have a decent shot. Assuming they have long lifespans they would probably be able to create dozens of children in their first generation. A kid every five years for a century is 20 kids. This will ensure that all of their DNA is passed on and prevent any negative traits from being fixed within the population. After that their kids would pair with their half siblings and the key here is to have a very high birth rate and allow the weak children to die while the strong ones who came out of inbreeding unscathed would reproduce. Eventually they would be able to purge out deleterious genes and get past the inbreeding depression phase. They would still have low genetic diversity, but they would be a coherent ethnic group. After a few centuries the demons would have enough people to try and make a comeback and reclaim their lost lands. Maybe they have a kind of magical genetic engineering that could aid this process, they do have resurrection magic after all.
