The thing that I don't get is why does the village chief have to get Mai abducted? Isn't all the sex she's having in the village all consensual anyway? The father and daughter was safe but the case got closed because the police spent days to find her in the village but could not find her. Few arrests were made but no sign of her nor could it be tied to the chief. The village definitely took her because the couple had a contact in the city who lived in the same village and he was blackmailed to give up the address and info. Also the truck through which she was taken back was found and it had her DNA and evidence of repeated rapes during the jorney. Moral of the story, flee to different country and maintain no contact
