It’s a common flaw a lot of teenagers have, they are childish after all, even some adults still are. This way, you can just see it as her being weak-willed af and not wanting to upset anyone. She does share some of the blame for not being able to turn his invitation down due to the lack of assertiveness.

Honestly this plot only attracts people after the ntr baiting, without which it's just another generic rom com, but ntr should have never appeared in the first place as only mediocre writers use it to force plot progression. That the mc only matures mentally after this conversely implies that he can't use his brain cells to make a good move, but is like a stupid animal that only moves when prodded, a common flaw shared by many Japanese ACG works.
