Yeah, the whole deal kinda stunk from the start. Like, her boyfriend lives there too, and apparently didn't have a problem with a human pet, but mom only punishes the daughter? Also, kinda wish there was a scene with the former pet turning the tables on the boyfriend, because aside from one instnance of "mush, mush", she didn't torture the girl and seemed happy to be equals at the end. Bad ending, rewrite.
