So my only issue with the story is that while the daughter was helping with the debt Araha made it quite clear that she wasn't actually on the hook for it... So it would be one thing if she was willing to sell herself to try and save her mom but she clearly didn't give a damn about her anymore. Unless I missed something she could have just been like "Welp... sorry mom I tried to help but good luck with the auction, bye!" and left right then and there.

To me, it seems people are confusing depressing with bad story Like it gets really depressing, but I don’t think it’s bad story. There’s just a point where people can no longer really ignore how depressing it gets, which is probably around page 170/chapter 8?
