Tbh I don't think the personality change was too drastic, the son and mother both weren't close and ig she saw him more of a burden? She just gave up on getting on track and wanted this all along also it was weird for the mc to see his mom pregnant and not run away I mean as far ss we have seen he just runs away from his problems also what happened to the little sister? Died? Sold? Is in an adoption center? I suppose we'll get a sequel
