Well I hate calling it generational trauma, but that's basically what it is. His mom treated him like shit, so he avoided getting attached to protect himself. That cold detachment resulted in him doing the exact same thing to someone else trying to care for him. I can't say I hope he finds her and tries to do right by her moving forward, but I do hope he realizes what he's doing and tries to improve for his own sake. For her, I hope she finds a place where she can play piano to entertain people. I dunno if I want her to end up with that kid, but I think I do. He's the only one trying to improve her circumstances, even if he's powerless to do much more than let her play the keyboard on his phone. Here's hoping the ending is happy...
