A portion of the population is kept unaware, bred as natural cuisine and hunted for sport, while farm-raised individuals are brainwashed into believing they’re happy to be eaten—and purged if they fail to meet the standards. The twist comes when it’s revealed that these ‘furries’ are actually genetically modified humans, created by a mother entity. The deer mastermind explains that the father-daughter duo of the unaware population was only able to retain human memories after being consumed because their brains were given to the mother entity for use as material to create bodies. The mastermind orchestrated this entire cycle simply to indulge in the exquisite flavor of their multifaceted brain after regaining memories.
