The censorship is thanks to some Japanese law made in the 19th century in order to "westernize the country", but is still kept partly due to the Yakuza having an interest in smuggling said material, the average Japanese person is not interested in politics even if it starts to negatively affect them, not to mention the copers who think it's hotter with the censorship.

I don't understand at all what the point of censorship is in something like this, even children will understand what's what, looking at the picture as a whole, all censorship essentially does is defame the author's work
