For those unfamiliar to BA lore: In BA, she acts as a very happy-go-lucky and lazy girl, and we know she has deep issues and is sortof a death seeker. Later on, we discover that Hoshino has *deep* PTSD and other such issues, after her words lead to the death of Yume -her best friend/senpai/mother figure- and that her entire personality was effectively based on Yume like some sort of coping mechanism/attempt to keep the memory of Yume alive... and that she is far, far more suicidal than we ever thought. In Vol 1 Ch.3, Hoshino's PTSD-driven rampage almost led to the destruction of Abydos (aka everyone she holds dear and love), and it was Hina (a one-sided rival of her who admire her deeply) who Sensei called in to successfully stop her rampage.
