I love this stuff. Not sure what that says about me. Masochism is the bees knees, really, the Philosopher's Stone, alchemy of the mind. (eg turns lead into gold.) I think it was an adaptation in response to hyper-aggression as is demonstrated by many men within our species. In dog psychology, we see submissive dogs all the time- the fact that they are around means its a successful evolutionary strategy. In ancient tribes they used less energy so they wouldn't starve, and were maybe good at social stuff whereas the bruiser types alienate a lot of folks that they routinely beat up . Just a guess.
