oh my god. you fucktards are absolute rookies at this. it doesn't matter whether they aren't dating or flirting or whatever. you can clearly see the mc not realizing the value of what he has, or only realizing it when it’s too late, and watching him waste that potential right in front of our eyes through willful ignorance or sheer delusion with a little bit of confusion, even though those lost opportunities could’ve been salvaged with just a bit of balls. and the fact that we readers get to see this contrast between "his perceived reality" and "what’s actually happening" from an omniscient perspective is what makes it striking. i mean, yeah, sure, if you break it down strictly, you can't call it textbook ntr. from the girl's pov, to put it mildly, it’s just "you snooze, you lose" and from his pov he thinks "everything is fine" but it’s the fact that WE, AS READERS, see that contrast is what gives the ntr experience, so it rightfully belongs under that tag
