Since all members (shareholders or investors) are representative of the company, therefore, from what I understood of the law, the members (in this case only the protagonist) can choose from their ranks an executive manager (president might just be translation) to be the head of the corporation. There also must be a functional manager appointed by the executive manager to perform actual managing duties (team leading and whatnot), it's like a constitutional monarch (president or executive manager, whichever is the correct term) appointing a prime minister (functional manager) to run the government (company).
