You can see that the first Are (Aichi) is extremely conflicted about this. She wanted to reincarnate to stay with the oni, but also realized that her decision would make her reincarnations fall into a rape-cuck-love cycle. That's why she left a cryptic diary instead of destroying all the evidence. She also pretended that the talisman and the warehouse is to ward away evil, when it fact they served to provide a location for the oni to fuck her, and this lie GOT PASSED THROUGH ALL NINE REINCARNATIONS. Every reincarnation ended up falling in love with the oni again. You can see this in Akyuu's letter to her next incarnation as well. Is the reincarnation of oneself the same person or an entirely different being? Is it moral to force your decision onto your reincarnated self? The fact that a rape NTR doujin gets this philosophical is bafflingly refreshing.

This is peak. What makes it so appealing is the fact that it weaves actual Touhou lore into the plot. Also as some of you are confused, Each reincarnation of Are is separated by roughly a hundred years, so it's not like she's giving birth to her next self. So the oni will spend most of his time waiting, alone, never mentioned, never recorded in history...

@testbotuser Oh this is completely fan fiction. Actual akyuu has to do several generations of paperwork with the Yanma of Hell to qualify for another reincanation. So most of her time dead is spent working for the likes of Eiki.

So from what I understand from my own interpretation and tl afterword, Are (Progenitor) and the Oni are lover? But due to issue of lifespan and species difference, they devised the reincarnation ritual to slowly transform her into an oni without breaking taboo? But they miscalculate that every reincarnation has their own fate and ego , without any memories of their past lives.

@discard668 holy shit, it's even worse than I thought, so it's about redemption of a surviving oni that trying to restore the population. So basically Akyuu is just a random woman that this oni choose for breeding and in the end, she's willingly to carry this oni's generation, and then she wrote a diary for her next reincarnated, same story goes for over 9th reincarnation until the 10th reincarnation manage to solved a little story about this rencarnation thing since she realise the some books in her place is written by herself in the past. Idk is this story a fan-made or one of the actual lore in the Touhou Project sequel.

@testbotuser. I think its implyed that the blood mixes in the egg. So the child is a threeway mix of Oni/akyuu/and akyuus lover. The buildup of oni blood in the family line allows for the rencarnation and the oni himself awaits for the generation that is enough oni to breed across fully. Which will brakes the Law of Gensokyo that humans are noy allowed to become yokai. An event reimu has killed over in the past. And she seems content with contenuing the cycle cuz well. Oni dick.

Finally got added here, a really good read and art indeed. The lore got me confused at first but finally understand it's about the girl's reincarnation and the oni trying to keep his generation alive. I would love for some proper explanation from someone about her child, is it the oni's child and is it really about keeping the oni's generation alive? Why he choose her though before the reincarnation started?

@linesamp did you not read it? The first reincarnatoin Made specific measure so no one would found out about their activity, its always come at full circle, the reason reimu doesn't know because the yokai presence get hidden by the talisman

If only the oni weren't Ugly bastard typeshit body, if it's like more likeable by a bit to resemble a more male humane average body, it would be easier to fap because it's hot.
