@Jerichow like metroid said, she wasn't with him at the time. She had the chance to leave him...but she probably really didn't want to hurt the dynamic anymore than it already was at that point. The friends a douche, but more than hurting his bestfriend, I think he just got a high off doing it behind his back, knowing he wanted her, and since she was forced into those positions, she probably had no place to really step away from it either.
